welcome to honey creek

Blogger's Note: I am delighted to welcome Julie Anne Lindsey as part of her blog tour to share information about her latest, Bloom. Julie is one of my favorite authors to follow on Twitter, and it's fun to see her career take off. Enjoy!

Hi Laura! Thank you so much for inviting me over to talk about Honey Creek! It’s my first blog tour and I am giddy : )

Welcome to Honey Creek!

Honey Creek, Ohio, is a place where anything can happen. Nestled in the lush green of rolling Midwestern hills, crops, combines and crows pepper the landscape, but inside Honey Creek there’s a whole lot of mischief going on.

I can’t resist a small town setting! All those concerned citizens looking out for you…how much fun is that? Okay, yes, it’s not always a good time for the characters in my story, but it makes it fun for the readers (I hope). There’s always something interesting going on in Honey Creek and I like finding those characters who’ve given up on love, then dropping them a lifeline. No one should give up on love! My goodness what a bleak world that would be *shakes head solemnly*

In Bloom, my main character has been away for seven years. She ran away from a heart break, but now she needs to come home. What begins as a short visit becomes much more. Facing her old town and dealing with things she’s stuffed in a box all those years tears her apart. The infuriating new neighbor doesn’t help matters. So what if he’s gorgeous and grouchy and seems to hate her before they’ve even met? What’s that about? And why does everyone in town think he’s so great anyway?

One feisty young woman plus a town full of people dying to see her happy…what could go wrong? Her ex still loves her. The new guy hates her. Her grandma is talking to a stuffed cat! Poor poor girl, she’s got plenty to sort through before she can leave and every moment she’s there life gets stickier.

This story wouldn’t be the same in a big city where anonymity is a possibility. Only in a small town do broken hearts lay bare for the world to see. There’s no hiding from all those loved ones, LOL and a few troublemakers too.  Don’t worry, there’s enough fresh strawberries and sweet tea to go around.

I hope you’ll visit Honey Creek. It’s a beautiful place where anything can happen. Kick off your shoes, relax into that porch swing and cuddle up to a steamy mug of cider. Taking a trip to Honey Creek is as easy as Amazon : ) See you there!

Bloom by Julie Anne Lindsey
In a town filled with her past, she never expected to find her future…

Seven years ago Cynthia left Honey Creek with a broken heart. Three years ago Mitchell arrived with one.  Now Cynthia’s come home, and these two hardened hearts can’t stop arguing. If they’d only take a break long enough to find some common ground, they might be surprised to find love can grow anywhere.

If they’ll let it, love will find a way to Bloom.

*Bloom is book one in my new Seeds of Love series.  I’ll be planting those seeds all year.
