What fun would a massive project like making an obscure reference pie be without some misadventures along the way?

Here are a few photo outtakes that didn't make the blog posted earlier today.

Can you see how nervous I was about cutting into that puppy? I'd already tried
once before posing for this photo, and I knew it was not going to be easy.

I wish I could say this was a gag photo, but my friend and
future food photographer, Jacie, captured my actual
expression when I first dove into the pumpkin to remove
the guts (aka sticky seedy crap).

"Waste not, want not," Ma Ingalls always said. I'm with her on this one.
I love hard cider, and it seemed like a shame to throw it out.

Streusel fail. If you know streusel, you know it isn't supposed to look like this.

Flour fail. Someone (i.e. I) got a little crazy with the flour while rolling crust.
